Frequently Asked Questions
What will the MCR service cost me?
MCR makes its money by recovering debt from rogue traders. MCR takes its fees from any recoveries. This is no win, no fee.
Sounds too good to be true. Is there a catch?
No, we are 100% genuine and fully committed to our clients. That is reflected in our testimonials. Our satisfied clients speak for themselves. We are happy to provide contact details so you can talk to the people who provided Testimonials.
MCR specialises in cases of insolvency. As specialists, we have a big advantage over generalist debt recovery firms. MCR has the benefit of extensive resources and years of specialist legal insolvency experience to assist in its chosen cases. MCR will use its contacts, experiences and resources to your benefit.
What if my invoices are old and I have not kept copies?
We always look at the facts of a specific case to tailor our practical and commercial advice. In certain situations, it might be up to 10 years after the dates of invoices, but we can still take appropriate action. You have nothing to lose by contacting us.
How long does the process take?
This will depend upon the nature of the case. For example, if you do not have invoices, then we might need to draft a short Witness Statement from you to explain the background to the debt -
Often, the existence of the debt will be confirmed by the debtor's own records.
However, if you can find invoices and sign our paperwork quickly, we aim to make a payment to you within a few days. We will then own the debt and will take legal action for recovery.
Typically, the cases we pursue are measured in months rather than weeks.
If we have to pursue a case to trial - and we are both robust and dogged enough to do so - then we will be at the mercy of the Court schedule.
The impact of Covid-19 has caused an adverse impact upon Court timetabling of cases. Typically, from the issue of Court proceedings, it might be 15-18 months before a full trial takes place.
We always seek to use methods of Alternative Dispute Resolution to try and short-circuit matters since this will save time (including management time) and wasted costs for all concerned.
We will use any methods, which we believe are most appropriate to achieve results as efficiently and as cost-effectively as is possible.
How often will you contact me to provide an update?
We can contact you as little or as often as you wish.
You are always most welcome to contact MCR to seek an update.
We believe in having a strong and continuing relationship with our clients as that is how we win repeat business.
